 San Giacomo's first television appearances were four episodes on three TV series in 1987. Tania Lewis was featured in two notable appearances on television in Crime Story 1988's episode "Protected Witness" Episode 13 (Season 2) and Miami Vice 1989's episode "Leap of Faith" (Season 5, episode 21). Prior to the couple's wedding, Cameron Dye, her potential husband, appeared in the Miami Vice episode. Before that, she had been a guest star on All My Children's daytime soap drama in the role of Louisa Sanchez, the Latina common law spouse of Mitch Beck (Brian Fitzpatrick) The presence of her character could endanger his relationship with Hillary Martin.
