Melissa Gallo was conceived in Lyndhurst New Jersey on August 19,1982. Her birthplace was in Lyndhurst, New Jersey. She was a homemaker and hairdresser as well as her father, who taught mathematics and worked at an jewelry shop. Gallo was raised in Guttenberg and was moved to Lyndhurst when she was six years old. Her family and she were fluent in Spanish in the home as a family However, after her brother's problems at school the parents decided to stop requiring her to speak Spanish. Gallo began dance lessons when she was young children and loved making plays and performing. 5 years ago, she expressed an desire to act after watching Broadway's The Secret Garden at the age of ten. [2] Her parents subsequently took her to classes in acting. Her favorite part of the theater classes because she and her classmates were focused on performing rather than their physical appearance. She continued to take dance as well as acting lessons till she completed her degree. As she received the acceptance letter from New York University(NYU) it was a school she considered to be "her dream",[9 Gallo was worried that cost would hinder her from going to NYU. Her parents secured a number of loans and spent the savings they had to ensure she would be able to attend. They also made Gallo live at their house [10and a half years] prior to when she went away. (In 2003). she earned a bachelor of Fine Arts degree in the field of drama.
