Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton, born Jan. 19, 1946, in Locust Ridge Tenn. to 12 children from a poor family kids who would grow with them eventually. She learned early on how to conquer of difficulties with her incredibly vibrant imagination. Prior to learning how to write or read she wrote herself songs. In 8 years, she got her first guitar. When she was 11 years old she started singing at Knoxville Tenn's local radio station. The following year, Gold Band Records was an independent label. As a student in high school She made her mark locally but dreamed about an even bigger stage. The singer moved to Nashville following her graduation in 1964. Dumb Blonde was her first album to be charted at the top of Monument Records. At about this time Porter Wagoner was looking for a new girl singer for his television show that was syndicated. Parton was signed to RCA Records and then joined the Grand Ole Opry. She was hired in the year 1967. However, it wasn't until 1974 that she decided to leave Wagoner's program as the popularity of her own solo records like Joshua Coat, Many Colors, and Jolene was outstripping their joint efforts. Parton recorded I Will Always Love You for Wagoner following their split. The song reached the top of the charts at. The first time that a song hit the top spot.
