Her sudden fame translated into film roles such as Shanghai Noon or Charlie's Angels. She then delivered a superlative performance in the role of Japanese criminal O-Ren Ishii In the Quentin Tarantino film Kill Bill Volume 1. In this period she was the main character in a few flops at the box office such as Rise: Blood Hunter.
